Beyonce Smells Fierce... A & F Smells Sh!t

Beyonce is ready to jump on the fragrance bandwagon.... why did I already think House of Derreon had a cheap scent out?? ...anywho... Abercrombie & Fitch as you may or may not know already has a heavily branded scent called Fierce. Court reports filed by the teen retailer state they have spent millions of dollars on machines to fill the stores with the trademarked scent so that the clothes exude "Fierce" once they're purchased (....wow A & F, you guys are SMART!!! No wonder your customers smell so good!!).

A & F already went a step ahead of Lady Derrier and put out a Cease and Desist and filed an injunction in order to block Bey and Coty, Inc (the company handling the fragrance) from even sweetly dreaming or beautifully nightmaring of putting out a "Sasha Fierce" scent cuz it will confuse their target market... While I don't understand how a bunch of preppy white kids could possibly confuse A & F goods with that which will appeal to a bunch of femme black boys led by Kanye West (see photo below), businesses must protect their brands I suppose.

While Beyonce's camp claims that they do not plan to use a scent branded under Sasha Fierce, documents filed to the Patent and Trademark office from 2008 clearly state otherwise... (I mean seriously girl, you're not dealing with ex-Destiny's Child members, these are professionals... they WILL find out.)

A & F will probably win this battle, but aint nuthin like a good legal sparring.

This just in: Kanye has already been spotted prepped for boycott outside of the courthouse....

Whooooaaa.... this battle could get fugly.

So Blake Lively looked great at the Emmy's in Versayz (Versace).... but did someone fail to notify her that Gossip Girl is on the CW and NOT Cinemax?? Come on Blake... Targit yo markit!!!!

I wasn't particularly impressed by Jason Wu's collection... but who cares? He's a fashion darling with a lot of spunk, being dubbed Baby Oscar (de la Renta). Many of the looks seen definitely screamed young Celebutante at any major event. Luxe without being too Gala. Not bad.

So I was playing around on the internet and discovered these crazy electric photos of Natasha Poly for Muse Magazine ((?! Going to B&N to search)). The photos are the work of Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy as you can probably tell from those skyscraping shoes she's wearing.

Thank God she made it down the stairs safely in those things.... I would suggest the elevator if you plan on rocking anything similar.

Sarah Brightman is to the world of classical music what Madonna, Beyonce, and Cher are all to pop. She's an ICON.

If you haven't heard her music, you've been missing out. Having starred in the original cast of the Broadway musical Cats and originating the female lead role of The Phantom of the Opera musical, the dramatic approach she takes to classical music, blending elements of contemporary pop, rock, and folk songs always packs a punch and is cinematic in shape and sound.

Fashion Makes Reading Fundamental

Ruben Toledo, arguably the most renown Fashion Illustrator of today, has taken his colored pens to the library and brought out a few of the classics with an all-new flavor and edge. While some of you are probably not happy that the insides remain the same, you have to appreciate mister Toledo's work, who has brought the fashion world to cartoony life.

I can't wait to see socialites and models prancing around town being photographed with books! The IQ of America will shoot up 20% in a matter of 48 hours. Guaranteed!

I would applaud Chris Brown's fashion choice on Larry King if he were promoting a new album... and his crime never. ever. happened.

Baby Blue? A Bowtie? Open your books please...

See class... a significant amount of anthropological research in fashion explores color and specific apparel pieces and why we wear them.

I think it's safe to say that many experts on the subject would strongly question the choice of light blue, a color often used to indicate calmness and a warm confidence that isn't overbearing (quite the opposite of a violent, abusive person) and a bow tie, which through a quick Wikipedia search turns up this quote from a style columnist who asserts: bow ties are "deliberate eccentricities" that "basically dull men" use to project the image of being "zany and fun."'

It is very possible that this clever boy is coercing the public, as many people in his position often do, to believe that he's a cute, harmless, fun, young guy who made a little mistake. No harm, no foul. Feel sorry for me. Forgive me. Move on. Thank you.

And, if it is true, the most interesting thing is that instead of using his speech or his actions, the usual choices, he chose to persuade and manipulate through FASHION.

Class dismissed.
